Meet MTR's Leadership

D Matt Scherer

As the president of the Military Transition Roundtable, Matt has helped veterans address their transition groups. As the author of “LinkedIn For Military,” he also works with MTR students to help them update their LinkedIn profile and then helps them capitalize on this for networking.

Jackie Scherer

A retired college professor and high school science teacher, Jackie works as a facilitator for four of the six groups. As a military spouse, she helps our students understand the challenges of addressing family issues that occur during transition.

Chadz Moniz

Chad Moniz understands the importance logistics plays in accomplishing objectives, whether it be the armed forces or the business world. Leveraging his military experience, Chad encourages companies to refine these processes to ensure they meet their customers’ requirements. He is a proud Military Transition Roundtable alumni. He also serves as a MTR board of advisor.

Michael Brownfield

As a First Sergeant in the US Army, Michael Brownfiel helped soldiers develop the necessary teamwork skills to get the job done. Nowadays, he continues this process by helping transitioning personnel learn to be a team player in the civilian workforce. He is particularly active on LinkedIn as well as serving as a volunteer facilitator in the Military Transition Roundtable program. He also serves as a MTR board of advisor.

Aaron Leroy

In January 2023, Aaron Leroy was appointed as the risk officer for HQ FEMA. When he isn’t helping to prepare America against natural and manmade disasters, Aaron likes to engage in team building, dismantling barriers that get in the way of coordination. Before joining FEMA, he served in the Air Force as a weather officer. He also is a Military Transition Roundtable alumni and serves as a volunteer facilitator.
