Privacy Policy

Military Transition Roundtable (“MTR,” “we,” “us”) is a nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 85-0886670). This policy explains what we collect through militarytransitionroundtable.com (the “Site”) and what we do with it.
Information you give us
- Contact and sign-up forms. When you join the community, request mentoring, register for a program, or contact us, our forms (run by Keap) collect your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you tell us about your service background and goals.
- Donations. Donations are processed by Clover. Your card or bank details go directly to Clover; we never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, contact details, and donation amount so we can thank you and send a receipt.
- Events. Our roundtables and workshops meet on Zoom. If you attend, Zoom collects its own data under Zoom’s privacy policy. We keep a record of registrations so we can send you meeting links and reminders.
- Email. If you email or message us, we keep that correspondence.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and operations. The Site uses cookies required for it to function. We use Jetpack, a WordPress service from Automattic, to deliver images and site features; Automattic may process technical data as described in its own privacy policy. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal information.
How we use information
- To run our programs: matching mentors, registering you for events, and responding to requests.
- To send community updates, event reminders, and newsletters you asked for (every email has an unsubscribe link).
- To process donations, send receipts, and meet our legal and accounting obligations as a nonprofit.
- To keep the Site secure and improve it.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us operate: Keap (forms and email), Clover (donation processing), Zoom (events), Automattic/Jetpack (site infrastructure), and our web host. Each handles data under its own privacy policy and may only use it to provide its service to us. We also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never share donor information with other organizations for their own marketing.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from marketing email anytime via the link in any message, or by contacting us.
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at Pete (phscherer07@gmail.com). We will honor deletion requests except where we must keep records (for example, donation records for tax compliance).
- Most browsers let you block cookies; the Site will still work, though some features may not.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and our legal obligations. We use reputable providers and limit access to personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please contact us immediately if you believe your information has been compromised.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
